July, along the Srinagar–Leh highway, just after sunrise. We were stopped at the roadside waiting for an army convoy to pass when I looked out of the window and saw this: a meltwater stream threading down the gorge below, slopes running from bare rock to deep green in a thousand feet (300 m), cloud caught along the high ridges, and the early light finding gold in the near slopes. No tripod, no setup — just the frame, while it lasted.
Sonamarg means "meadow of gold," a name the valley earns in the warmer months. This is a landscape of layers: the lit near slopes, the stream falling through shadow below, the cloud-wrapped peaks behind.
Fine Art Paper — Canson Platine Fibre Rag handles the graduated greens and golds with lustre subtlety and holds detail in the shadowed gorge. Canson Arches BFK Rives White gives a softer, more painterly reading; Moab Silver Metallic heightens contrast and lends the meltwater and the lit slopes a pearlescent glow. Prints are trimmed borderless at the stated size. 8x12 inches and smaller ship flat; larger sizes ship rolled, and are supplied unframed.
Every fine art paper print carries a 1-inch white border for handling and framing, added outside the image dimensions shown. The exception is the largest size in each aspect ratio, where the paper is already at its maximum width: those are printed borderless, edge to edge at the size shown.
