Shipping & Returns
Made to order
Every piece is produced individually for you using museum-grade materials — nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be shipped. Production typically takes 5–10 business days, plus transit time. Larger and custom-framed pieces may take longer; if your order needs extra time, I'll let you know.
How your artwork ships
Fine art paper prints 8"×12" and smaller ship flat. Larger paper prints are carefully rolled, protected in acid-free materials, and shipped in heavy-duty tubes.
Acrylic, metal, and framed pieces are packed to survive the journey. Anything larger than 20"×26" ships in a custom, foam-lined crate built for that specific piece — the safest way to move large-format artwork. Tracking is provided as soon as your piece ships, and larger deliveries may require a signature.
Shipping costs — and why I charge them separately
Shipping is calculated at checkout and charged at my actual cost. I don't mark it up, and I don't build it into the price of the artwork. That's a deliberate choice, and it works in your favor three ways.
You pay what it actually costs. When shipping is "included," you're still paying for it — it's simply folded into the price where you can't see it. Charging separately means the price of the artwork is the artwork, and the shipping is exactly what the carrier charges me.
You pay less tax. Under California law, delivery charges that are separately stated and don't exceed actual cost aren't subject to sales tax. Artwork priced with shipping included is taxed on the full amount. Keeping them separate keeps the shipping portion out of the tax base.
You're not subsidizing anyone else's delivery. A single "free shipping" price has to cover the most expensive destination and the largest crate, which means most customers overpay so a few don't. Charging actual cost means a small paper print ships like a small paper print.
Ordering more than one piece? Shipping is calculated on the order as a whole rather than per item — so multiple pieces almost always ship for less together than they would separately.
Orders above $15,000 ship by freight and may require a custom quote. I'll confirm final shipping with you before production begins.
International orders
I ship worldwide by custom quote. Please get in touch with the piece, size, and delivery address, and I'll provide a shipping estimate before you order.
If your artwork arrives damaged
Please inspect your piece on arrival. If it's been damaged in transit, contact me within 7 days with photographs of both the artwork and the packaging, and I'll arrange a replacement at no cost to you. Please keep the original packaging until the matter is resolved — carriers require it for damage claims.
Damage is rare. The crating used for large pieces has an exceptional safety record, but if something does go wrong, I'll make it right.
Returns
Unframed fine art paper prints may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the purchase price. Prints must be returned unused and in their original packaging; return shipping is the customer's responsibility.
Framed and mounted artwork — acrylic, metal, and any piece with a frame or liner — is made to order to your exact specifications and is final sale. This is standard for custom-made fine art, and it's why I'd rather help you get the choice right the first time.
Not sure which size or presentation to choose?
Get in touch before you order. I'm happy to talk through what suits your space, your light, and your wall — that conversation is often the difference between a print you like and one you love.
