Indranil Chandra is a nature and wildlife photographer based in Northern California, making large-format archival prints of landscapes and wildlife from across the American West, the Indian Himalaya — Sikkim, Kashmir and Ladakh — and the wildlife of Ranthambhore in Rajasthan.

Across all of it, his photographs trace the connections between land, habitat and life, telling stories of nature's strength, grace and fragility. Through the work, Indranil hopes to remind viewers of the urgent need to protect the natural world.

Light and colour sit at the centre of his craft. He is drawn to the transformative moment — the first sun striking the summit of Kanchenjunga while the valleys are still dark, or the thirty-second exposure on a canyon floor that gathers light the eye alone cannot hold. Through careful editing, he draws out the full range of tone and colour the camera records but does not, at first, reveal.

Every image is offered as a museum-quality print in a choice of media: Standard and TruLife anti-reflective acrylic, ChromaLuxe and Gallery metal, and archival fine art papers including Canson Platine Fibre Rag and Moab Silver Metallic. Prints range from intimate sizes to statement pieces beyond eight feet on the long edge, framed or unframed, made to order and shipped worldwide.

Every photograph tells a story, and his hope is that these stories move others to appreciate — and safeguard — the wonders of the natural world.
