Kanchenjunga Massif Alpenglow Gallery Metal Wall Art

from $158.00

The Kanchenjunga massif catches the first light of the day, seen from Pelling in West Sikkim — its summits burning orange while the valleys below are still held in shadow. At 28,169 feet (8,586 m), Kanchenjunga is the third-highest mountain on earth and the highest in India, sacred to the people of Sikkim, who by long tradition leave its true summit untrodden.

Alpenglow lasts minutes, and only when the eastern horizon stays clear while cloud still hangs in the middle distance. Here it separates the image into three registers — the dark forested ridges, the band of cloud, and above it the lit snow.

Gallery Metal — The next generation of the metal print: printed with Canon LUCIA PRO pigment inks and bonded to a rigid aluminium panel beneath a protective laminate, resolving finer detail and holding colour longer than dye-sublimation can. The modern process for images that reward close viewing. Here that holds snow, rock and cloud as separate textures across an image built on horizontal bands, and the rigid panel suits its clean geometry. Glossy adds a hard coat for scratch resistance along with the fuller colour and depth; matte is anti-glare and holds sharp detail without softening it. Both are UV-protected for long-term display.

Also available in: Standard Acrylic version · TruLife Acrylic version · ChromaLuxe Metal version · Fine Art Paper version
